Wigwam Sponsors San Francisco Boys Chorus

Wigwam is proud to sponsor the San Francisco Boys Chorus, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to discovery, development and encouragement of boys with unchanged voices through its musical programs. The SFBC has a heritage of more than 60 years of training young performers for the opera and other major musical institutions. The boy’s chorus will be performing outside on the front steps of the Capitol so; Wigwam will be outfitting their feet! They donated Wigwam has sent 90 pairs of socks for each individual choir member including; 17 pairs of Snow Jr. socks, 28 pairs of Snow Rodeo socks, and 45 pairs of Gobi Liner socks. Wigwam is a strong believer in reaching out to communities and not-for-profit organizations that are committed to improving the lives of others.


“The San Francisco Boys Choir is a prime example of this and we are happy to sponsor their trip to perform at the 2009 Inaugural celebration in Washington D.C.,” said Margaret Chesebro, Field Marketing Manager at Wigwam Mills, Inc. The SFBC’s mission is to provide music education, vocal training, and performance experience at the highest artistic level to Bay Area boys from all cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. The Chorus experience encourages appreciation of music, self-discipline, confidence, commitment, teamwork, and respect for others. This mission matches perfectly with the morals and values that Wigwam looks for in an organization.

The San Francisco Boys Chorus (SFBC) is an internationally acclaimed Grammy-award winning not-for-profit music education and performing arts organization at the heart of San Francisco's cultural center. The chorus serves over 240 singers from 50 Bay Area cities and more than 120 schools at three Bay Area campuses.
