Lucky Socks?

Lucky Socks?

Lucky Socks?

UH OH.

My lucky socks - the Wigwam Ironman Tail Wind Pros - were dirty. I debated for one split second about grabbing a pair of "regular" socks but decided against it. When you're trying to set a PR...you don't want to mess around with non-lucky socks.

I didn't care that it was late and it meant I wouldn't get as much sleep. I NEEDED my lucky socks. NEEDED.

So I gathered a load of whites and tossed them into the washer.

Whew. That was a close one.

Fast forward to race day. I had my lucky socks. I had a good feeling about this day.

(Running running running running...running running...running. Running running. Running. Also, running.)

Annnnnnnd...I PRed. I shaved 30 minutes off of my previous marathon time. 30! That's how you know I'm a newbie marathoner. I'd like to see Deena Kastor shave 30 minutes off her time. :)

I couldn’t have done it without my lucky socks. Or without the months of speed workouts. Lucky speed workouts. :)
