Follow Kerrie to China

Three years ago I had spinal fusion and although the surgery was successful, I continue to struggle with residual limitations due to nerve impingement and damage. Prior to surgery, I had lost enough function in my right leg that a 10 minute walk was grueling for me. Despite ongoing limitations, since surgery I have managed to gain a significant amount of strength and conditioning. I teach fitness classes now as well as continuing with my own training. Although running continues to be a struggle for me, I will never stop running. I am excited to complete this marathon feeling successful about it and in a place to magestical and powerful. I strive to be a role model for people and to encourage them to move through and around their barriers rather than allowing barriers to remain in their lives. Thanks to organizations like Project Athena, Wigwam and others I will live this dream in May. Check back as I share updates on my training and gear!

Kerrie leads by example. As a kickboxing instructor, she had high expectations for each of us learners. Kerrie patiently explained and demonstrated fundamentals for safe, effective progress. She gave me the tools to realize I could gain the physical strength to accomplish goals I hadn't previously had the mental toughness to set for myself. I wouldn't be surprised if after she runs IN China, she'd be ready to run back FROM China ! Go Kerrie Go !
Kerrie is a constant inspiration and a joy to know!

I am glad to know her and have the opportunity to support her.
I know that the godess Athena would be proud-There is no doubt that Kerrie is a fitness warrior godess!
What an amazing person, seeing what she has overcome firsthand has been an inspiration to me and others. I am proud to have her as my daughter.
