New Adventure

Merino Silk Nomad                                               Well I had a birthday at the end of January and I was having a discussion with my wife on how it was about time to embrace the Minnesota winters and quit dreading them. This has been a battle I have lost many times.  So the discussion led to things that we could do outside the the cold and snow. So for a gift I received some snow shoes. I was a bit surprised at first, but after I strapped them on and went tramping around the yard for a half hour or so, I was hooked. Now being the large individual I am, I was quick to find out that my boots were no way going to fit into the straps for the snow shoes.  So I had to break out the old Asics from the summer months and I initially grabbed my Weather Warrior socks and hit some of the local trails.   I have been having a blast these past few months and am actually a bit bummed that I can't strap on my shoes and grab my iPod and enjoy the fresh chilled air.  I guess I my have to start jogging now or something.  Hmmmmmmmm......

FYI- After going out a few times I found out that my actual shoes didn't get that wet in the snow.  I started wearing my Merino Silk Nomads instead of the Weather Warriors.  They are just as comfortable and warm, but let my feet breathe a bit more while keeping them dry.

Cheers.
