4 weeks in

I am now 4 weeks into the training.  I'll admit I am pretty proud of myself for keeping to the system.  I even almost find myself thinking about going out even on days when I don't have to.  I wouldn't go as far as saying that I am becoming a runner, but most days I feel pretty good afterwards.  I have been using the Couch to 5k app on my iPod touch which has been very slick.  It has my playlists and tells me what to do and when.  Thanks to my friend Jen for telling me about that one.
The ol' body is holding up pretty good to.  I started on just running on grass for the sake of my knees.  However, the place where I'd go has construction nearby so I'll just hoof it on the streets of West St. Paul which is mostly flat.  I usually ice when I'm done and my back gets a little stiff now and then, but I feel pretty good and my pants are fitting better.  I haven't seen any weight loss though.  I was hoping to see more of that, but when the longer runs come in, maybe that will help.
I have had to run in high humidity and rain in the past week.  I was spoiled at first with all the ideal weather.  Rain isn't so bad, but humidity sucks.  I didn't go nearly as far as I'd hoped that day.  I am becoming more fond of the early morning runs.  That way I have it over and there are a lot less people to laugh at me when they see me attempting to get in a shape that isn't round.  Well, I'm off to get todays run in and then off to practice.  More to come.
