Care Instructions
What is the best way to care for my Wigwam socks?

A little bit of care for your Wigwam socks can keep them performing well for years. For the best results, turn socks inside out before washing. Wash in warm water. Do not bleach. Do not use fabric softener. Tumble dry with low heat. Remove promptly.

What is the best way to stop my wool socks from pilling?

We suggest that you launder your socks inside out.

Should I use fabric softener on my socks?

In styles that are classified as moisture moving, the fibers are made up of channels. The channels are used to move the moisture away from the foot and after time liquid fabric softener will get trapped in the channels causing the sock not to wick as it was designed.

I soaked my socks in bleach to try to get them white and the elastic came out?

Check the care instructions on the inside of the package. Bleach causes the elastic in socks to break down.

I bought two pair of the same style and one is smaller than the other. Why?

This can be caused by a number of things: We have a 1/2" (+/-) tolerance set for length, possibly a cone of yarn has more stretch than the last, tension on the machine, or the size of the stitch.

I bought a pair of socks and the toe seam split open as soon as I put my foot in them. Why would this happen?

When the sock is knit the toe seam is sewn shut. At times the toe seam does not get sewn shut properly and when your foot is inserted into the sock, the tension from your foot pops open the toe seam.

I have tails stick out of the stitching in Cool-Lite Hiker Pro Quarter (style F6066). Why is this?

Once this style was washed tails on latter stitch would pop out, we have corrected this by changing the yarn that is used in that sport sock.

Why are the heels wearing out?

It could be because the sock is too large or your shoe/ boot is too large or has a rough spot in it. In both cases, excessive abrasion takes place on the heel, causing a hole.

Why am I getting holes in the toe of my socks?

The most common reason that people get holes in the toes of socks is because their nails are too long. This creates holes in the sock.

I have one of your socks and my Wigwam retailer can not identify it, what can I do?

The sock can be mailed to our office for identification and after this is done, we will return it.

The toe seam is bulky in my socks.

Wigwam has a select number of styles where the toe seam is closed on a sewing machine. At times the person running the machine will make the toe seam too thick to ensure it does not open.
