Gaines Roberts takes his Wigwams on the trip of a lifetime
Tuesday September 25, 2018

When our first semester of college hit, we knew that during the following summer we wanted to go on a road trip across America. We all had a strong desire to explore going off of the beaten path into a world of the unknown. We wanted to photograph our trip as well as write about our experience, so others could follow along. Our number one reason for going on this trip was to explore the creation. Every corner you walk around is a new adventure, another story, and life experiences.
When my alarm woke me in the dead of night, I knew that it was time for the adventure that I had been dreaming about for years. Once we quickly got ready, we slammed the doors and cranked up the car music with the eagerness to reach all the National Parks as soon as we could. We set out early that morning, traveling day and night and finally arriving at the start of our adventure.
Our number one goal of the trip was to not abide by a schedule but to travel as we please. We had places that we wanted to go to, but we were in no rush to get there. We wanted to experience life and its obstacles as they came. Another goal we had was to live in the moment. We didn’t want to be so distracted that we miss out on something unknown that God planned for us. That is why we loved wearing Wigwam socks; they gave us so much comfort during these times and allowed us to zone into the moment.
From the first steps of the trip, our Wigwam socks took us to where we could never have gone. As we started out on our first trail hike at Arches National Park, we donned the extremely comfortable socks that were built for wilderness. As we started to hike, my friend looked at me and said, “these socks are too comfortable,” and I laughed at his compliment. It is true. The socks allowed us to enjoy the outdoors without worrying about feet pain or uncomfortable hiking. The Wigwam socks kept us stylish with different sock designs, while hiking with comfort.
Throughout the trip we wore Beacon Heights, Bears Ears, and Copper Canyon Pro Socks. My personal favorite pair was the Merino Comfort Ascent Lite Socks. The pair I was wearing has extra cloth on the bottom to provide a smoother and better hiking experience then having to worry about foot pain. We lived by the motto, “If you look good, you feel good” and that was so true with our Wigwam socks.
