You’ve made your list, and checked it twice. You have all your gear and trail snacks packed and are ready for a weekend in the great outdoors! The last thing you want are cold, sore feet.
Wigwam socks are engineered with cutting-edge sock technology that keeps your feet warm, dry and blister free. Some of our most sought-after outdoor socks feature our patented Ultimax® Fusion sock technology. Here’s a quick run-down of what that means and why it’s important for your feet.
1. Dry Feet are Happy Feet!
No matter the weather conditions, Ultimax® Fusion moisture-wicking technology will keep your feet dry. It uses a push-pull system to move the sweat your foot produces from the inner hydrophobic layer of the sock, to the outer hydrophilic layer. This makes for easier moisture evaporation and fresh airflow.
2. Cool in the Summer, Warm in the Winter
A crucial ingredient in our Ultimax® Fusion socks is Merino wool. Not only is it one of the finest, softest wools, it also naturally manages moisture and regulates temperature. This means that if it’s cold outside, your feet will be insulated and keep warm; when it’s hot outside, the outer layer of Merino wool pulls sweat away from your foot, so it can quickly evaporate.
3. Total Fusion
Wigwam’s Ultimax® Fusion technology adds another layer of moisture managing fiber with a built-in Olefin liner. Olefin is a super durable hydrophobic fiber that will repel or “push” moisture away from the inside of the sock to the outer layer of Merino wool. Merino wool is a hydrophilic fiber that will “pull” the moisture to the outside of the sock, where it can evaporate faster. Essentially with every Ultimax® Fusion sock, you're getting a sock and a liner in one.
