The Wigwam Blog

The next event in the Endurance Race Series (ERS) is quickly approaching. Denver, Coloado will house the series’ largest trail gathering on September 7th and there couldn’t be a better time or place for it! Wigwam has been in attendance for the ERS races all summer, cheering on runners in Beaver Creek and Keystone. Participants have had nothing but glowing reviews of the trails, staff and support. If you’re a beginning trail runner and looking for a beautiful course, Denver is the route for you! Be sure to bring the whole family out for an active, fun-filled day.

Denver Endurance Race Series

Why is Denver the Most Popular Route?

What draws the largest crowd to Denver? Of all the ERS races, Denver offers the easiest, flattest course. There are no notable points of elevation and it’s ranked as a level 2 difficulty on a scale of 1 to 10. The trail itself wraps around the beautiful Cherry Creek Reservoir, which is just southeast of downtown Denver. For the half marathon, there are two loops, which bring you around the south and east side of the water. During the race, runners can enjoy a mountainous backdrop and a constant view of the reservoir. The 10kers only run the loop on the south side but take in equally stunning views. Overall the routes are about half bike path and half dirt trail, so be sure to bring your trail running shoes and socks!

Fun for the Whole Family

The Endurance Race Series prides itself on offering the perfect combination of competition and family-friendly activities. At the Denver race, your kids will love joining the festivities by running the Kids Half Mile Dash. Just like mom or dad, they can take to the trail! It’s always one of our favorite parts of the day.

There’s still time to register for the half marathon, 10k and Kids Race. Hope to see you in Denver!
